General Overview of Email Flow from Email-Client to Email-Server


Moreover it is just a simple overview of Client-Server Mail Flow not a deep level architecture. There are other many protocols and procedures to connect to Email Server like if you are outside the organization and want to connect to your organization's Email Server than your outlook will be configured Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTP) Protocol or you can also access through the web browser called (Outlook Web App) or if you are going to access email server using Smart Devices that you will be used (ActiveSync) Protocol.
